Stuhr's Great Danes Companion / Pet Contract: 

Each contract will have the sire, dam and puppies individual information and dates on them. 

We due hold the right to give each puppy it's full registered name. We do themed litters so people know which puppy came from what litter in a pedigree. All of the wording that goes into the dogs name is very important.  example Stuhr's She's On Fire V Zarlin .  (Stuhr's) is the kennel name that bred this dane. (She's On Fire) is her themed name. (V) means of . (Zarlin) is the kennel that the sire is from. The register name will be chosen by the breeder. Purchaser(s) have the right to call the puppy what ever call name they choose. 

Limited Registration With Companion Quality Guarantee:

This dog is being sold with an AKC Limited Registration. This means that the AKC can not register any progeny from this dog. This dog can not show in AKC conformation events, but can be shown in AKC non-conformation events (i.e. obedience, agility, tracking etc.) Under NO circumstance is this Stuhr Great Dane puppy ever to be register with any other kennel club other then the American Kennel Club such as (i.e UKC, CKC, etc.) We will not provide brood bitches. If a Stuhr Great Dane is found registered to a different kennel club, the purchaser will immediately return the said dog to the breeder and pay a 1000.00 fine for breaking contract and if there are gets out of the said dog. A 1000.00 fine will apply for each get and a list of the homes will be provide to the breeder. The reason for this agreement is we will not supply puppy mills of any kind. To many people breed with out doing the research and health checks. No reputable breeder would want to see their puppies in that kind of home. If you live outside the states please ask to view our other contract for outside the United States.

The health of the Stuhr Great Dane puppy is warranted against genetic diseases which by determination by a competent veterinarian would lead to the premature euthanization of the said dog.  In the event euthanization of the  Stuhr Great Dane dog is deemed to be in the best interest of the animal by a competent veterinarian, purchaser(s) and breeder because of development of a disease not to include parvo virus, distemper virus, heartworm, and nutrition related disease or any non-genetic disease, the said dog will be replaced by the breeder at no charge to the purchaser(s) with a dog under the same terms and conditions as set forth herein, from the same litter or from a equal value as per the breeder. Breeder must receive a letter from a competent veterinarian with the reasoning for euthanization, dna or micro chip number of the said dog. If the said dog is to be euthanized, spayed/ neutered, bred or altered in anyway, purchaser(s) have to have written approval from the breeder. 

All dogs sold with a limited registration must be spayed or neutered with proof of receipt sent to breeder (Stuhr Great Danes) by the age of 12 months. Breeder will replace any puppy / dog evaluated by OFA to be seriously dysplastic provided proof from OFA furnished to the breeder by the puppy/dog's 28th months of age.

Due to the rapid growth of a great dane in the first 12 months your puppies will be under a lot of stress and we would recommend you limit their protein intake to 23 % for the first 12 months. Never feed any brand of Puppy Food. (Suggested dog foods: Eagle, Pro Plan, Iams Large Adult Breed, Pedigree,) We also recommend that you elevate your puppies food and water bowls. Due to the size of this animal it is more comfortable or less stressful on you puppy and prevents digestive problems and back problems.

Even though your puppy is full of energy and can keep up with you, they do not require must exercise and the dane should NOT  be road worked or jogged until they are over the age of 18 months and the growth plates close. Over exercising can and will make problems for your puppy and this will not be warranted in our contract.

We recommend that you crate train your puppy. Puppies should not be crated all the time but Never leave your puppy unsupervised through the house braking period or the chewing stage. Damages done are the responsibility of the buyer and not that of Stuhr Great Danes. Leaving your puppy unsupervised can also lead to the puppy getting in to things or eating things that can lead to a vet visit.

As a dane owners we need to keep our puppies in conditions conduced to good physical and emotional health. We also owe it to our neighbors and families to provide a fenced in area for our four legged friends. No Stuhr Great Dane should ever be tied out or left outside over night and when left outside for a long period of time they should have access to plenty of clean water and shade from the elements. Danes do not do well in cold/hot weather and should not be left out in severe weather for long periods of time.

If due to circumstances beyond the control of the purchaser(s) the Stuhr Great Dane must be given up we ask that the dane be immediately returned to the breeder along with the AKC registration papers signed over to the breeder with current health records. We always have a place for our puppies and never want them to end up in a bad home. We also ask that the puppy never be sold, given, placed or otherwise transferred to any one not a party to this contract with out written permission of the breeder. 

Purchaser(s) Responsibility: Purchaser(s) acknowledges herein responsibility for the maintaining the said dog in healthy, clean and safe environment for the dog's lifetime. Purchaser(s) further acknowledges responsibility for any and all appropriate medical care that is necessary for maintaining the health and welfare of the said dog. Exclusions from warranty: This warranty will be null and void if the following instances:

1)If you board you dog in a public boarding facility prior to the age of six months.

2)For any nutrition related diseases (i.e. OCD, HOD, Panosteitis, etc.)

3)Any cosmetic alterations

4)Bloat
